Procedures for Monitoring Turnaround Time:
1. PURPOSE:
This SOP explains procedures to be followed during monitoring of Turn around
Time (TAT).
Refer to Quality System
Procedures Issue No. 2, QSP 27, Page No. 44.
Turn around Time for Dengue
testing is defined as follow:

2. STAFF RESPONSIBLE
AND AUTHORIZED TO PERFORM THE PROCEDURE: Assistant Quality
Manager/Assistant Technical Manager, Technical Staff of Laboratory.
3. PROCEDURE:
- Entry
of all samples is done in LIS and Lab IDs are generated and time of entry
is noted in LIS.
- Before
testing, entry of all received samples is checked in protocol register
& it is verified by another technician.
- Before
signing, it is verified by Assistant Quality Manager/ Assistant Technical
Manager that all the samples are tested & correct results are entered
in LIS as per test protocol. LIS will record the reporting time.
- Daily
at the end of day, it is checked that reports are dispatched in respective
wards within turn around time.
- In
case of TAT outlier, root cause is identified, necessary corrective
actions are taken & if required, clinicians are informed about the
same.
- Turn
around time is monitored through LIS for all the samples tested in
laboratory. LIS will print daily TAT Register.
