PURPOSE - This instrument is used for homogenous & uniform mixing of samples and reagents

LOCATION – Virology Laboratory (Dengue Lab)

OPERATION:

1. Vortex mixer should be kept on an even surface.
2. Put the power switch on.
3. Hold the closed vial on it & lightly press on it.
4. Mixer will start. Keep the vial on it for 30 seconds.
5. After vortexing, put off the switch.
6. Let the vial / tube stand still for 30 seconds to avoid scattering of aerosols.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS:

·       Any splashes of serum samples or any other samples are cleaned with 1% Na hypochlorite.

·       In case of electrical short circuit, put the main switch off and call the electrician.
