PURPOSE - This instrument is used to store test kits and samples of
virology laboratory.
LOCATION- Dengue Lab
OPERATION:
- Refrigerator must be placed in such place where sufficient air can circulate to facilitate heat exchange of compressor.
- Must close the refrigerator door to prevent warm air from outside to enter cool chamber.
- Do not store eatables in refrigerator.
- Temperature is recorded daily by the technician.
- Temperature should not exceed 10°C.
MAITENANCE AND DEFROSTING:
- Procedure for Defrosting: Defrosting and cleaning is done once every month. While defrosting of refrigerator DRF 01, contents are transferred in DRF 02 & while defrosting of refrigerator DRF 02, contents are transferred in DRF 01.
- Clean the cool chamber with freshly prepared 1% Sodium hypochlorite and wipe with sterile cloth after defrosting properly. Clean refrigerator from outside with dry cloth everyday.
- Keep the compressor dust free.
RESPONSIBILITY – Laboratory technicians
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS-

Do not keep the door opened for longer period of
time.

Temperature should not be raised above 10°C.
·
Check for leakage or exhaust of gas and if found
inform the Section in charge and workshop immediately.
